Full Question: How would I know if I am a submissive?
Answer:
Submission has been called a gift, a natural characteristic, and a choice.
Some people find submission a natural way to live, and it comes to them easily and simply. Other submissives have to learn about submission step by step. When you feel you are happiest when submitting, that’s when you know you’re submissive. There is no secret to it.
The most critical choice you can make is based on your desires. When one chooses a submissive role in this lifestyle, there are usually clues as to what will make you the happiest. These clues are desire, a sense of emptiness, and a need.
- Do you desire to serve someone, to give the control of your life over to someone else?
- Do you feel a void in your life because you can not be the one someone calls upon for their needs?
- Is there an overpowering need to be of service?
- Are you always helping others, wanting to volunteer for things, and taking on every task as your own because it makes you feel good?
- Do you feel satisfied when you’ve completed a request or task for someone else?
These are clues that you may be submissive. Now I say maybe because all people have these draws in life, it’s just that submissives have it in excess.
Submission is personal. So many websites, including Submissive Guide, try hard to define submission in terms others can understand and hopefully identify in themselves.
And yet, I know that since my submission is personal, it’s likely that it has undergone some changes as I’ve matured and progressed in my journey. Knowing that my journey helps change and mold my definition of submission is comforting. It means to me that submission will always fit.
