I LOVE “My Little Ponies: Friendship is Magic”. Sometimes in the evenings before bedtime, I will sit and watch episode after episode. My personal favorite is Pinkie Pie. I see a lot of myself in her. In the series, there’s a group, and they’ve dubbed themselves “The Cutie Mark Crusaders”. The reason why they call themselves this is that they are three young ponies trying to find their cutie marks. Before I go any further, for those of you who aren’t familiar with “My Little Ponies: Friendship is Magic”, let me explain what a cutie mark is. A cutie mark is a symbol that is on the pony’s flank and is related to the pony’s specific personality, proclivity, or talent. It’s something that comes in when the pony is young and for the Cutie Mark Crusaders, they’re still waiting, a bit impatiently to get theirs. They keep trying different jobs and tasks to find out what their cutie marks are.

A friend of mine on Facebook posted this question a few weeks ago as her status, “What is your cutie mark?”, and it got me thinking about what my cutie mark would be.

I could probably come up with 101 different options, but my flank isn’t quite big enough to hold all of them. I’m an avid baker, usually making something once a week, if not more often. So, maybe a whisk or something that’s used in baking(and we know that some of those things can be used for something a little more fun!). I’m also a writer, even though I need to spend more time on my many halves started fictional stories, and of course, something lifestyle related because being a slave is a huge part of my life. The more I’ve thought about this, I’ve narrowed it down to a design. The BDSM emblem with an orange rose(the color of passion) entwined in the holes and an ink pen. I feel that these three items cover the most important aspects of my life and my personality as well. I also was thinking that it’s a good thing that my cutie mark didn’t come in when I was younger because I don’t think it would have been the same as the one I’ve picked out for myself and because I’m not quite the same person I was even two years ago.

That’s one of the great things about being a human being, we’re constantly learning and changing the older we get into becoming more of the person we’re meant to be. The same goes with being in the lifestyle. Almost if not all people start out as timid shy individuals, scared to stick our toes in the water of the lifestyle. The more we get to know, the more comfortable we become, and the more we’re able to open ourselves up more to new experiences and meeting new people. Just like life, there are so many wonderful ways to grow and experiment in the lifestyle with still being completely safe.

Also with being in the lifestyle, it has given me the courage and strength to find the person I really am, and I feel this is something that I feel is true for most people.

I maybe going out on a limb here, but I honestly believe that once most people find out about the lifestyle, they realize a part of themselves that was laying dormant and once those feelings are discovered, they all of a sudden feel whole and more alive, which is quite an amazing feeling. Growing as a slave or submissive is an extremely important part of our role in the lifestyle. The amount of information that’s out there is much more than anyone could ever read, but the information you are able to consume, it’s worth the time to read so you can grow and become a better submissive to your dominant. Again, while there’s no right or wrong way to live and practice the lifestyle, the information you find online or in books is a great way to find new things to introduce to your relationship and dynamic.

Growing is such an important part of life. Everything else in life changes and there’s no reason why you can’t change as well. The changes you make in life may not always be for the best, but they help you grow none the less. Who knows, five years from now my cutie mark could become something completely different than what it is now because I won’t be the same person I am now that I will be in five years, and neither should you.

I would love to hear from our readers what your cutie marks would be and the reason behind what you picked.
